Nine Feathers

True Self-Defense Based on Natural Body Movement

Nine Feathers, the Kokono'Ha Dojo, is the name or our training group and dojo.

The name "Nine Feathers" originates from the Japanese legend that the "Tengu" (often depicted as a crow-like being with the body of a man) are the patrons of the martial arts. These "Tengu" are the predecessors of the Ninja, who possess supernatural skills in swordsmanship and weapon making. In addition, they sometimes serve as teachers in the art of war and strategy to those who they find worthy.

The number "nine" itself has great significance. It is usually thought of as a highly magical number in the esoteric arts. It is representative of completion, and is therefore a symbol of ultimate power.
